Summary:
Jillian Lima’s whole world was destroyed in a span of a few hours. The same night her childhood love, Brock ‘the Beast’ Mitchell, broke her heart, her life was irrevocably altered by the hand of a stranger with a gun. It takes six years to slowly glue together the shattered pieces of her life, but Jillian is finally ready to stop existing in a past full of pain and regret. She takes a job at her father’s martial arts Academy and she’s going out on her first date since a failed relationship that was more yuck than yum. Jillian is determined to start living. She just never expected Brock to be a part of her life again. But he’s firmly back in her life before she knows it, and not only is he older, he’s impossibly more handsome, more teasing and more everything. And when he sees Jillian, he’s no longer capable of thinking of her as the little girl who was his shadow growing up or the daughter of the man who gave him a second chance at life. He sees the woman who’d always been there for him, the one person who believed in him no matter what. Brock knows she’s the one he should’ve made his, and what begins as a tentative friendship quickly turns to red-hot chemistry that sparks a flame that burns brighter than lust. Falling for Brock again risks more than her heart, because when the past sorrow-filled and guilt-ridden past resurfaces, and a web of lies threatens to rip them apart, the fallout could lay waste to everything they’ve fought to build together, and destroy the dreams of those they care most about.

Jen has officially done it again. I honestly never get tired of reading her books and I always find myself going back for more. I always get sucked into her stories, getting to know the characters on what feels like a personal level.

Jillian Lima has been in love with Brock Mitchell since the day she met him. Brock joined Jillian's family after he attempted to rob her father. Her father took Brock under his wing and treated him like a son. He saw potential in Brock as a mixed martial arts fighter.

After a night that leaves Jillian with a broken heart and almost dead, it take her six years to cope. Six years of not speaking to Brock. Jillian is ready to start her life again when she finally takes the job her father offered her at his MMA Academy. Little does she know, Brock is her boss. When she finds this out, she's angry and confused. Brock wants to patch things up but Jillian is hesitant to fall for him again. Her past, and lies she's not sure she believes, threaten to break Jillian just as things start going her way again. Will Jillian and Brock be able to make it through together?

Jillian first sees Brock when she literally bumps into him while she's on a date and when she finds out he's her boss, she doesn't know what to think. She cant possibly quit just because she doesn't want anything to do with Brock at the moment. But Brock sees it as second chance. Brock is flirting endlessly with Jillian, taking her out to lunch, and bringing her Starbucks every morning (man do I wish I had someone bringing me Starbucks every morning). As the flirting goes on, and they finally talk about that night, it turns into a spark that ignites a flame between them.

Jenn did an amazing job with this book and I couldn't put it down, constantly turning the pages to see what happened next. I'm excited for this book to hit shelves and for everyone to get to enjoy the story behind Brock and Jillian as they ignite a fire in each other.
